Holy %#@&! Where did the season go? I can’t believe its December already. For most of you, your leagues playoffs are coming up next week and for some of you, this might be the week. At any rate, good luck to ya!

Here are a few players you can rely on this week and one that I would hold off on.

Start em if you got em…

Rashard Mendenhall RB (PIT) - Oakland comes to town with both the 31st ranked rushing defense and the most rushing touchdowns allowed in the league. Combine that with the fact that the Steelers may want to concentrate on keep Big Ben upright and you have yourself a back who should get plenty of opportunities to put up some fantasy points. 125+ yards and 2 touchdowns doesn’t sound to bad.

This part-time musician/full-time father has pretty busy weekend to prepare for so I’m gonna make this one short and sweet (3 gigs in 3 nights -what was I thinkin?). I’ll be back next week with my regular amount of picks.

Also, here’s a big HU-AH to fellow veterans everywhere.

Soooo, lets get to it.

Start em if you got em…

Braylon Edwards/Jerricho Cotchery WR (NYJ) - Look for the Jets to air it out a bi this weekend against the Jags. They’ve kinda lost that part of there game and what better way to get back on track than to take on a Jags team that can’t rush the passer (a whopping 8 sacks this year) and gives up touchdowns (15 in 8 games). Both are decent bye week fillers since both are gonna score and each have 5 + catches for more than 80 yards.

As the title implies, I am shortening this installment up a bit this week due to my lack of time (A wedding and a performance this weekend to prepare for. My head is wanting to spin). But, these are some super quality picks that I am super confident in. Check them out.

Start em if you got em…

Thomas Jones/Leon Washington RB (NYJ) – The Bills are giving up about 150 a game this year and they even let Jamal Lewis “plow” for over 100 last week. I just bet the Jets will run all over them. Thomas Jones goes for 100 and a TD and Leon goes for 125 all around yards with a big play for a TD and a few receptions sprinkled in to please you PPR guys.

Holy freakin crap what a busy week. How’s yours? Hopefully you are a little more relaxed than yours truly. Anyway, I don’t have time for my usual full slate of picks this week but I will throw a few out there for you. Check them out.

Start em if you got em…

Jerricho Cotchery WR (NYJ) – As bad as Tennessee has been getting ripped up this year there is no reason to believe the Jets won’t do otherwise. Also, Cotchery has quietly done a very solid job this year. He is sitting at number nine in the league in receiving. If you can find a way to get him in as a WR2 I say go for it. Look for 7-100+ and a TD.

Alright, now that you and I have those pesky bye weeks out of the way, let’s start thinking playoffs and league championships. See if any of these guys belong in your train of thought.

May be available now…

Tyler Thigpen QB (KC) – Not to long ago he was a desperation play, boy has he come a long way. Three solid games in a row. This week he went for 266 and three touchdowns (and no turnovers). The KC offense is playing good right now and their schedule features some soft defenses with games against the Saint, Broncos, San Diego, and Cinci. You could do a lot worse if you are looking for a QB.

Brady Quinn QB (CLE) -He was solid in his debut and has a few decent match ups down the stretch if you are out of options.

Larry Johnson RB (KC) – It is possible that some owner in your league gave up on the guy. If so, why not grab him. The offense is playing pretty damn good, their schedule is fairly soft from this point on and they are pretty much out of running backs. Who know what he will do when he returns this week from suspension to play the Saints but why not throw him on the bench until you know for sure.
