Before I get to this weeks picks I want to share a new rule I’ve made as a result of last weeks picks; never pick the Arizona D as a start. Man what a disaster. They were playing so well and against decent teams. Crazy how Carolina just came in and rolled up on them. Live and learn I guess.

Also this week, I have a few things I wanted to tell you about other than the usual start sit stuff. A few fantasy blogger friends of mine are promoting a a few things you may be interested in. Make sure you check that out the “Around The Web” section (below) before you go because you could win a $50 gift certificate.

OK, so lets get to it.

Start em if you got em…

Dwayne Bowe WR (KC) – I think he is a safe bet against the Jags considering they very near the bottom against the pass (26th). Also, I can’t imagine there will be too much defense in this one. I can easily see a 6 for 100 yard day with a TD.

Won’t be long now and the fantasy playoff will be here and there is no room for error. SOOO, lets make sure you have quality contributors to put in your line-up and make sure you keep the dead weight out of it. Check this list!

Start em if you got em…

Arizona D – These dudes are on a tear – 7 int’s, 8 forced fumbles and 16 sacks this year already – and guess who’s comin to town – Jake “the Turnover Machine” Delhomme. I don’t think it takes much more convincing than that.  Oh, and I bet you can find them on your waiver wire. Look for 4 sacks, less than 14 points, 3 picks and a TD.

Well its week four and by know you and I are starting to get a pretty good feel for who’s reliable and who’s not so reliable. But there are still a few players that have yet to live up to their billing. This week, I have one of them for you.

Also this week, I am stepping out on a limb with a few picks. Some of them seem to defy logic BUT I, like you, must trust my gut. Here’s what I have on tap for you this week.

Start em if you got em…

Santana Moss WR (WAS) – Last week I thought about starting him but opted instead for Hines Ward as my WR3… OOOPS ( thank God I still won). This week I won’t make the same mistake again. Look for him to post some decent numbers again this week against the pathetic Buc’s defense. 7 for 120+ and a TD.

Before we get to this weeks picks, I just want to take a moment to thank you for reading the Fantasy Football Goat. This Wednesday the blog reached the 500 subscriber mark. Thanks again.

Now, back to business.

There are some pretty prominent fantasy players who are on a bye this week. Studs like Adrian Peterson, Brandon Marshall and Greg Jennings will be at home watching the games just like you and I (except with much bigger TV’s and in much bigger pads). If you are one of the unlucky owners you faces a week without one of these three, good luck.

Now lets take a look at a few players who will be performing – or at least trying to – this Sunday.

Start em if you got em

Thomas Jones RB (NYJ) – He has been fairly hot as of late; 159 yard rushing performances against Oakland last week and 3 touchdowns the week before. This week he gets to play a Chiefs team that is dead last defending the run and doesn’t have any offense to keep him off the field. Getting the yardage and the scores shouldn’t be a problem for him this week. Look for 125 and 2 touchdowns. Read the rest of this entry

With fantasy regulars like Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb, Micheal Turner and the Eagles defense on vacation this week, many of you are looking for adequate replacements this week. Lucky for you, I have looked high, low and beneath every rock I can find to offer you a few suitable replacements.

Here is what I have.

Start em if you got em

Matt Schaub QB (HOU) – Schaub and the Texans offense are really starting to heat up. Over the past four week the Texans have scored – with or without Matt – an average of 27+ points per game. Funny, but – outside of the Vikings making them look better than they are last week – that is pretty much the same amount of points the lowly Lions are giving up on a weekly basis. Hmmm…I wonder what that means?

Look for Matt and company to get their groove on this weekend at home against Detroit. Look for 300 yards and 2+ touchdowns.
