First I’d like to wish you a very happy and prosperous opening week. They don’t make many Sundays quite as good as the first. Oh and unless you are really hung over, you might want to make sure you get some good exercise in the morning so that you are prepared for a long day on the couch. Now lets get to it.
After a quick glance at this weeks games, I had a few starts, sits and sleepers that I just couldn’t keep to myself. See what you think!
Seattle D - The Rams start the season with injuries galore and will be going on the road against a solid defense in a very loud stadium. This one has blowout written all over it. I’m thinking 5 sacks, 2 picks, a TD and -13 points allowed.
Bird Shot - Everyone who will be touching the ball in the Detroit at New Orleans game. Unless you have the Lions rook and get docked for interceptions - a little risky.
Kyle Orton QB (DEN) - His dislocated thumb was poking through his skin less than two weeks ago. That alone should be reason enough to start making other plans. BUT believe it or not the Cinci D was pretty solid down the stretch last year and according to my slightly foggy memory, the Bengals didn’t allow more than 10 point in any of the last 4 or 5 games. If he even plays, maybe 200 yards, 0-1 touchdowns, and 3 picks.
Bird Shot 2 - Unless you are strapped, sit anyone wearing a red helmet with an arrow on each side. A team with bad o-line and a very shaky all around defense against a team with a good defense with a solid ball control offense playing at home doesn’t exactly give me the warm fuzzies. Less than 250 total yards and less than 7 or less points.
…Justin Gage WR (TEN) comes down with 6 plus catches and a TD against the Steelers and becomes a hot commodity - at least for those in the know - in PPR leagues starting Tuesday morning.
…Cedric Benson RB (CIN) has a 100+ and a touchdown outing against a shaky Denver run defense. Get him in now before the Pittsburgh’s and Baltimore’s of the world start showing up on the schedule.
Now before you go, there are two things you need to do;
1) Sign up for the newsletter. Whether you are new or a Goat veteran, you will want to sign up because I will I be sending out each post and there will be times when I will send out some stuff that I don’t want to share with the world by posting live. Get the newsletter now!
