So did you my heed my advice and bench Stephen Jackson last week? How about my call on not giving up on Steve Slaton? Hopefully you did and are now savoring the sweet fruit of success. If not, well, there’s always this week. Take a look at what I have for you for week 5.
Marshawn Lynch RB (BUF) - You drafted him and you waited patiently for three weeks only to see him get 8 carries for 4 yards last week. Bummer! Well I say this is the week he puts up some numbers for you. Cleveland is 31st against the run and just ripe for the picken. I’m can see him easily cracking the 100 yard mark and something tells me he has 2 touchdowns in him (that something being a little stat that says Cleveland has given up a league high 8 rushing td’s so far this year - thats 2 per game for you math wizards).
Nate Burleson WR (SEA) - As of now Hasselbeck should be back in the line-up this week and that is good news for Nate. Even if Wallace has to go, the Jags are ranked dead last against the pass. A PPR gem foresure and a solid WR2 in any league this week with 8 catches for 100+ and a touchdown.
Santana Moss WR (WAS) - The dude has been lighting it up as of late but it is time for him to take a seat on the bench this week. He is notoriously a feast or famine type of guy. Also, Carolina’s pass defense is decent with their weakness being in run defense which means the Skins “should” work that angle the hardest. Unless you are strapped due to a bye, you might want to look elsewhere. No TD and no 100 performance this week!
Kellen Winslow TE (TB) - Maybe this is obvious by now but if you are tempted, don’t be. The Eagles are very stout against the pass - in particular tight ends. Maybe grab a Visanthe Shainco or Vernon Davis - who have great match-ups - of the waiver wire and throw one of them in. Less than 5 catches for 50 yards - if he’s lucky - and don’t even think about a TD.
…Matt Cassel QB (KC) puts up some decent numbers against the Dallas defense. Not only will they be playing catch-up but the Cowboys are ranked 29th in the league. If there is a week where Cassel could finally be productive, it is this one. Looking for a bye week replacement? Maybe his 250 and 2 touchdowns will be enough for your squad to weather the storm this week.
…Jerome Harrison RB (CLE) posts some decent numbers against a weak Bills rushing defense who also likes to give up yards (150 per game) and TD’s to opposing running backs (7 this year). Everyone has been torching the Bills this year and this week will be no exception. He’ll get it done on the ground 75+ and a TD’s and through the air 5 for 50+.
