I was flipping through YouTube today and I stumbled onto some old footage of Barry Sanders. I figured I would share it with you, and while I was at it, start a new series. I’ll call it Fantasy Football Hall of Fame Legends (turns out my first choice is trademarked and can’t be used).
Barry was a difference maker on fantasy football teams. When you saw him on your opponents team you know he could go off big time.
Although, back in the day, Barry wasn’t the type of back that would be drafted number one overall, we was a solid first round pick most years. This said more about the team he played on more than about his ability. He just didn’t get the goal line opportunities of annual first picks like Emmitt Smith.
Barry was (is) exciting to watch because Read the rest of this entry

Well Mr. Favre did it again; he torched my Minnesota Vikings. He torched them so good that he earns this weeks Fantasy Football MVP honors.
He helped fantasy owners everywhere with 351 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. This year, stats like those have been common place for Favre and that isn’t likely to change any time soon.
A few other players worth mentioning this week are Read the rest of this entry

Well I hate to repeat MVP’s but this week I had no choice. For the second time this years the honor goes to half man, half God, Adrian Peterson. When you break a record the size of the single game rushing record you get the nod.
In case you missed it AP posted 296 yards and three touchdowns. He is the first rookie ever to go over the two hundred mark twice in the same season.
Just think of how much more dangerous the guy would be if he had even an average passing to keep the defense honest. Scary (unless your a Vikings fan like your truly anyway). Read the rest of this entry

After adding two rushing touchdowns to his usual 300 yards and three through the air, I could’ve easily picked Tom Brady for this weeks Fantasy Football MVP. However, I picked him last week and how fun would that be?
Instead I picked Drew Brees with his 31 of 39 for 336 and four TD performance against the Niners. Just when you thought you wasted a high draft pick, he comes through with big time performance.
Best of all if you own him, the Saints are starting to pick up some steam. There is good reason to expect more games like this before the fantasy season is over. After the Jaguars this week he has games against the Rams, Texans, Carolina and Atlanta. Read the rest of this entry

As I pondered who I would choose as this weeks fantasy football MVP, there were a few performances that stood out to me.
There was Rob Bironas’ eight field goals in wild game in Houston. For every guys lucky enough to start him there was another guy really pissed off about losing because of him.
Then there was back-up running back Kenny Watson’s three TD, 130 yard performance against the Jets. You know Marshawn Lynch is licking his chops as he watches the game tape on this one.
Those performances most likely were difference makers in fantasy football contests everywhere and they without a doubt deserve their props. However, there is one performance that stands far and above the rest. Read the rest of this entry
