Holy %#@&! Where did the season go? I can’t believe its December already. For most of you, your leagues playoffs are coming up next week and for some of you, this might be the week. At any rate, good luck to ya!

Here are a few players you can rely on this week and one that I would hold off on.

Start em if you got em…

Rashard Mendenhall RB (PIT) - Oakland comes to town with both the 31st ranked rushing defense and the most rushing touchdowns allowed in the league. Combine that with the fact that the Steelers may want to concentrate on keep Big Ben upright and you have yourself a back who should get plenty of opportunities to put up some fantasy points. 125+ yards and 2 touchdowns doesn’t sound to bad.

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to this weeks picks. You and I are both getting closer and closer to the big payoff at the end of a successful season. So it is important to dot our i’s and cross our t’s. Make sure that we put in the right guys and keep out the wrong ones.

Anyway, I’m gonna make this one short cuz I can smell that turkey cookin and I’m getting really hungry. I’ve be saving every square inch of my stomach for what is about to take place. I love Thanksgiving!

Here’s your picks!

Start em if you got em…

Justin Forsett RB (SEA) - Last week I had him as a sleeper and he delivered. This week he should go straight into your line-up as a solid RB2. The Rams are a surprising 13th against the run but Seattle will be using him extensively in the passing game. He will get over 100 all purpose yards, 5 + catches and 1 or more touchdowns.

I just wanted to apologize for not having a start sit post on time for you this week. A bunch of things that I needed to deal with kinda all came up at once.  I just wanted to throw a few ideas out there for you for the remaining games.

For starts this week I like Kevin Smith – and the Lions – against Cleveland. It won’t be as easy as it looks but he will be serviceable.

Also, I think the Falcons are going to look to pass more because of the Turner injury and they should be able to do it against a shaky Giants secondary. Matt Ryan, Roddy White and Gonzo should all be solid starts. And don’t be afraid to roll with Jason Snelling if you have too. He looked good in relief last week and he is a solid RB2.

For sits I gonna suggest Joseph Addai if you’ve got better match-ups. I think Baltimore really wants this game and will be able to neutralize the colts running game.

If you had to roll with Jamaal Charles last week you came out alright. This week I would super glue him to your bench. The Steelers are going to be looking to make a statement this week to atone for the loss last week. They know its wildcard or bust so look for them to set the toen for the remainder of the season be dominating the Chiefs in every phase of the game.

For sleepers I think I am gonna roll with Justin Forsett in PPR leagues. I’m a Vikes fan and they haven’t been clamping down on the run as much this year so he may have some success there but the really points will come through the air as the Seahawks try and play catch-up all game.

Also, something tells me that Josh Freeman would be a good play in a two QB league this week. He will be playing catch-up and he seems to have the ability to move the squad. One word of caution for those who get docked for INT’s. Sharper is back and he has the knack for baiting QBs into making throws they shouldn’t make.

That should do it. It’s not as pretty as the usuals posts but the info is still there. Good luck this week!

This part-time musician/full-time father has pretty busy weekend to prepare for so I’m gonna make this one short and sweet (3 gigs in 3 nights -what was I thinkin?). I’ll be back next week with my regular amount of picks.

Also, here’s a big HU-AH to fellow veterans everywhere.

Soooo, lets get to it.

Start em if you got em…

Braylon Edwards/Jerricho Cotchery WR (NYJ) - Look for the Jets to air it out a bi this weekend against the Jags. They’ve kinda lost that part of there game and what better way to get back on track than to take on a Jags team that can’t rush the passer (a whopping 8 sacks this year) and gives up touchdowns (15 in 8 games). Both are decent bye week fillers since both are gonna score and each have 5 + catches for more than 80 yards.

Before I get to this weeks picks I want to share a new rule I’ve made as a result of last weeks picks; never pick the Arizona D as a start. Man what a disaster. They were playing so well and against decent teams. Crazy how Carolina just came in and rolled up on them. Live and learn I guess.

Also this week, I have a few things I wanted to tell you about other than the usual start sit stuff. A few fantasy blogger friends of mine are promoting a a few things you may be interested in. Make sure you check that out the “Around The Web” section (below) before you go because you could win a $50 gift certificate.

OK, so lets get to it.

Start em if you got em…

Dwayne Bowe WR (KC) – I think he is a safe bet against the Jags considering they very near the bottom against the pass (26th). Also, I can’t imagine there will be too much defense in this one. I can easily see a 6 for 100 yard day with a TD.
