Building this list was a little tricky this week but I managed to find a few players worth picking up and list a few more that you can add to your watch list. Check them out.
Kyle Orton QB (CHI) - Don’t look now but Mr. Orton is starting to look like a fantasy QB. I recommended that you pick him you last week and I am doing it again this week. And after a 334 yard, 2 touchdown performance against Detroit I am doing it with a little more certainty. A great bye week spot start this week with Atlanta on the schedule.
UPDATE: Tim Hightower RB (ARI) - I know I have mentioned him before (who hasn’t right?). But I just want you to make sure he isn’t laying around in your league. It is too bad he isn’t getting all of the carries 7 for 37 yards and 2 TD’s. With his nose for the endzone (he has 5 td’s already this year) He could be a nice fill in during a bye week and a MUST have if Edge goes down.
Bobby Engram WR (SEA) - If you didn’t grab him last week and you are not too late, grab him now. The Seahawks only had 113 total passing yards, Engram had 61 of them on 8 catches. When the Seahawks get back to the west coast and get some better match-ups, todays performance indicates that Engram will be a solid starter week in and week out.
UPDATE: Brandon Stokley WR (DEN) - Looks like Eddie Royal may miss a few games with a sprained ankle. Not only that but Scheffler has a strained left groin. Both injuries should result in more targets for Stockley in Denvers High Powered offense.
Washington D - Last Week I said “They haven’t gotten the sacks but they held the Cowboys juggernaut in check for most of the game and collected a pick and fumble. They have Phili next week, then excellent match-ups against St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit”
They only allowed Phili 17 points. Imagine what they could do to the three lesser offenses on the schedule. Great bye week replacement and possible automatic start over the next few weeks.
J.P. Losman QB (BUF) - Trent Edwards suffered a concussion in the Cardinals game but the Bills have a very timely bye this week. I doubt Edwards will miss the next game but ya never know.
Jeff Garcia QB (TB) -Brian Griese injured his shoulder and missed much of the game in Denver. If he isn’t able to go next week, Jeffy is back in the saddle.
Cedric Benson RB (CIN) - If you are searching high and low for a potential bye week replacement in a deep league, maybe have some roster room to spare or need Perry’s back-up now that Kenny Watson has been cut, Benson might be your man. He had 10 carries and didn’t look to bad. Plus, Chris Perry keeps fumbling (five in five games).
Greg Camarillo WR (MIA) - He seems to improve his performance a little each week. This week grabs 6 balls for 68 yards and his first TD this year.
Vincent Jackson WR (SD) - Chambers was injured and carted off the field. If he misses time, Jackson would get a few more looks and thats not such a bad thing on a team that likes to sling it.
Domenik Hixon WR (NYG) - Plax will be back next week so Hixon’s big numbers may be spotty BUT he is a playmaker and could be included in the game plan a little more after posting 4 catches for 106 and a touchdown against Seattle.
Mike Walker WR (JAC) - Just when I decide to give in and recommend Matt Jones, he doesn’t do much. BUT Walker steps up and post some solid numbers 6 catches for 107 yards. Even though I won’t recommend pulling the trigger on him just yet, I would say he has some upside after watching him play. Lets keep an eye on him.
Matt Ryan QB (ATL) - How about the rookie? I’m not buying yet but he gets a solid performance on the road 194 and 2 touchdowns. I would be a little higher on him - for a spot start in a deeper league - but he plays three solid defenses over the next three games( CHI, at PHI and at OAK).
Nate Washington WR (PIT) - Posted 6 for 94 and a TD against Jacksonville. Great night but won’t do it every week with guys like Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward ahead of him.
Rashied Davis WR (CHI) - He caught 6 balls for 97 yards which is great but I’m not buying quite yet. It is difficult to pin point a consistant fantasy reciever on the Bears.
Devin Hester WR/KR (CHI) - 5 for 66 and TD. Same as Rashied although I would give Hester a slight bump because of his return skills.
This upcoming week: Buffalo, Tennessee, Kansas City, Pittsburgh

5your picks are not bad my friend. i check it out tuesdays to catch those noted players that we all talk about along with Espn. yet we never see the numbers. it would be sweet if you setup your basic point scheme and told everyone how many F. Pts. your waiver picks and what not are producing. got a good question for you. if you had a TE on a bye week in a small league.. in week 6 would you take Z miller. Dustin Keller. or kevin boss. all playing against horrid teams as far as Defense is concerned. im leaning keller…

8The Worm,
Thanks for stopping. I am glad that you like my suggestions. I also like your suggestion about listing the points although I am not sure I would have the time to put that together (unless you would be willing to do so).
As far as the tight ends go…they are very close but I am leaning towards Miller since he one of their best options (since they don’t have many). Boss and Keller have plenty of good receivers around them to steal away targets.
