What a wild and crazy week of games. There were eight quarterbacks throwing for over 300 yards last weekend and Monday nights score fest provided a ton of drama in leagues everywhere. Hopefully you were the benefactor of all of the scoring.
Looking ahead to this weekend, there are a few more potential score fests and my first pick should be in line for another high scoring fantasy performance.
Final stats: 104 with 3 touchdowns
Final thoughts: Par for the course for Turner when he has good match-ups. Oh, and the lowly Falcons are 2-1…who woulda thunk it?
Carson Palmer QB (CIN) - For the second time in two weeks, I am going to have to go with a Bengal as my sit of the week - what can I say, they are making it all to easy. Carson Palmer is struggling big time and there is no way you can feel comfortable going with him on the road against a hot Giants team. Sit him down until you see some life. No way he goes over 200 and at this point, it would almost be a fluke for him to score one touchdown.
Final stats:286 and a touchdown
Final thoughts: The good news is, he looked good and owners can breathe a sigh of relief. The bad news is, he made my projection look bad.
Ryan Grant RB (GB) - 15 carres for 20 yards against a bad Lions defense can only mean one thing, he’s not healthy. The hammy seems to be an issue so it is time for you to do what the Packers should do, shut him down for awhile. Let the man get healthy. If he does go against the Cowboys this weekend, don’t expect much more than what you saw last week.
BONUS: Larry Johnson RB (KC) -Last week he was a must start. This week you would be better off doing what I am doing in one of my league (where I start 3 running backs), get him as far away from the starting line-up as you can until he proves he can do anything. 12 carries for 22 yards against a weak Oakland rush D. Are you kidding me? This week he faces an Atlanta that can be run on. Problem is, you don’t know if he will be running it. The Chiefs running game is a mess, stay away and go with someone a little more reliable.
Final stats:121 and 1 touchdown
Final thoughts: Again, good news is that he broke out. However, the bad news is, now we really don’t know what to expect going forward.
…J.T. O’Sullivan QB (SF) has a stellar performance against a Detroit defense that was tore up by Aaron Rodger and company last week and made Atlanta rookie Matt Ryan look like a seasoned veteran in week one. Other than match-up, everyone is talking about the toughness he showed last week where he took 7 sacks and was still able to throw for 300 yards. I doubt he’ll have to worry to much about getting hit this week (Detroit only has two sacks so far this season). If you are have a less than stellar match-up with a lower end QB1 or are of the gambling ilk - J.T. is your man. Look for 275 and 2+ touchdowns.
Final stats: 189 and 2 touchdowns
Final thoughts: Not quite what I expected but the Lions didn’t really offer up to much of a fight so SF chewed the clock with Gore.

2This week, not sure who to use as my flex receiver. I am starting Calvin Johnson and Brandon Marshall. I have Andre Johnson, DeSean Jackson, and Eddie Royal. Just worried about what Tennessee will do with Matt Schaub ( I do have the Tenn Defense) and just matchup-wise, DeSean and Eddie could do well. What would you advise??? I know what Johnson can do but they are going to get carved up. Week one is the perfect example.

4@Daniel,
Thanks for stopping. Congrats on having that receiving corp…especially this weekend. I think you go with Johnson. He is a stud and a number one on a pass heavy offense. He’s “arguably” a guy where match-ups don’t matter.

5My league starts 2QB & 2RB. I have Anderson, Rodgers and Cassel for QB’s and Thomas Jones, Marshawn & C. Johnson for RB’s. Which two should I start for each position. I’m leaning toward Cassel & Rodgers for QB’s and Marshawn & C. Johnson for RB’s, I just need someone to convince me that I’m heading in the right direction. Keep up the great blog!

6@Chris,
Thanks for stopping. I like the way you are leaning (Rodgers/Cassel and Lynch/Johnson). Good match-ups for all involved.
