Being a fantasy football slash NFL blogger is both challenging and fun, but, you definitely need to know how to take a little crap. Crap is exactly what I got on two occasions this last weekend.
First, while having a discussion among friends, I was the butt of my own joke while we were discussing the merits of being a weatherman as it relates to job security. After I made a statement along the lines of “how cool would it be to have a job where you get things wrong time after time and never get fired?” I was met with a pretty sweet comeback, “almost as good as being a fantasy football writer.” Everyone burst into laughter and I was speechless.
When you’re right, you’re right. Right?
Next, hot off the heels of a bigtime Packer victory I was spotted and called out while having a few at a local watering hole. While visiting the mens room, a bucky Packer fan - they are everywhere around here - reminded me that I picked the Seahawks.
To make a long story short, lets just say he knew how to press the buttons. And after about 6-7 Bud Lights there was a part of me that really, really wanted to tackle him but thankfully for him, I am a pretty damn nice guy now-a-days.
In the end, neither of these experiences will deter me from continuing my predictive ways. I will continue to call them as I see them. I will get some some wrong and get alot more right. I will just be looking forward to weekends a little bit more.
