The regular season might be over but that doesn’t mean your fantasy football season has to be. No sir, not at all. in fact some of the best fantasy action is still ahead and I am here to prepare you.

In this post I have laid out a list of players - aka a fantasy football cheat sheet - at each position. Along with each of these lists I have posted a few thoughts on draft strategy and, to soup it up a bit, I am giving you one sleeper pick for each position. Lets start with the QB’s.

Quarterbacks:
Have a solid quarterback on a team that plays at least two games and you will be sitting pretty when the dust settles. Any of the top five should do just that.

Sleeper - Eli Manning jumps off the page for me. If he plays inspired like he did in that last game against New England he will be a force. I think new York has a very good shot at eliminating Tampa. And that would more than likely send him to Dallas (if Seattle wins) and that could be a potential score fest.

1. Tom Brady NE
2. Tony Romo Dal
3. Peyton Manning Ind
4. Brett Favre GB
5. Matt Hasselbeck Sea
6. Ben Rothlisberger Pit
7. Eli Manning NYG

11. Jeff Garcia TB
12. Vince Young Ten (Questionable and immature)

Running Backs
Not much to choose from in this category so if you are drafting, you just might want to grab them early. After about 15 they get pretty dicey.

Also, unless you are in a point per catch situation you may want to steer clear of running backs for flex positions. I know I’ve been preaching RB, RB, RB for flex all season but unless you can grab a TD vulture there are better options at receiver.

Sleeper - Shaun Alexander has looked old all year and the team said they were going pass, pass, pass but everyone else is thinking the same thing by now and there are a few things to consider; you he will get the chances at the goalline. He definitely has the potential to play in two or three games. And maybe, just maybe, he will step it up since it is the post-season. His chances at a ring are getting slimmer every year at this stage in his career.

Wide Receivers
This is probably the deepest position and the one that will offer the most value late in your draft. Grab a top shelf guys earlier and then maybe wait until late to grab another one. This is also a likely position to use in the flex spot during the play-offs since the running backs get really thin fast.

Sleeper - I know he is ranked pretty high already but I like Chris Chambers as a sleeper anyway. He might be an after thought for some owners looking at LT and Gates. He has been solid the last three weeks of the season and has been getting looks in the red zone. He should easily play two games with an outside shot a three.

Tight End
The tight end pool this year isn’t too bad. Anyone of the top nine or ten guys should net you some points. If you don’t get one of the first two though you might look to grab someone who you think has the potential to play more games.

Sleeper - If I have to pick, it would be Jerramy Stevens. He has been red hot the last two games of the regular season with 8 catches and 3 touchdowns. Granted it was with the backups, as they rested the starters, but you have to think the coaches noticed as well.

1. Jason Witten Dal
2. Antonio Gates SD

Kicker
Never underestimate the importance of a kicker in the playoffs. The first year I played fantasy football in the post-season, Al DelGreco of the Titans had ALOT to do with my first place finish. That was the year of the Music City Miracle. He went on to play in Superbowl which gave me 4 games of scoring.

Sleeper - Nate Kaeding should get two games and maybe three if the offense stays on track. Most of the other kickers could be out in the element. He would have one in sunny San Diego and one in a dome in Indy (if they win of course).

1. Stephen Gostkowski NE
2. Nick Folk Dal
3. Adam Vinatieri Ind
4. Josh Brown Sea
5. Mason Crosby GB

7. Josh Scobee Jac
8. Lawrence Tynes NYG
9. Matt Bryant TB
10. Shaun Suisham Was
11. Jeff Reed Pit
12. Rob Bironas Ten

Defense
Most people probably have New England a little higher but they haven’t been very solid this season. Nobody has that hard of a time scoring on them. If they didn’t have such a strong chance to give you three games I might have put them lower.

Sleeper - If Seattle can get past Washington, which I think they can, I think they could mess with Favre and company in Lambeau in the cold and play in a third game.

1. Indianapolis
2. Dallas
3. New England
4. Green Bay
5. Seattle
6. San Diego
7. Tamp Bay
8. Jacksonville
9. Pittsburgh
10. New York
11. Washington
12. Tennessee

As always be sure make a few other stops before you fill out your roster or start your draft. Swing by and check out what the Fantasy Football Librarian has to offer. She scours the web looking for lists like this.

Also, check me out over at the Bruno Boys site over on MVN. Marc Caviglia and myself will be doing a post-season podcast later this week plus I’m sure he and Mike Whooley have a cheat sheet of their own for you to look over.

Finally, if you’re looking for a league to participate in, I have a few ideas for you. First, Tino over at FootballJabber.com has set up a little post-season action at this link.

Second, the Fantasy Football Librarian has set up a league on NFL.com. You can get there by clicking here.

If you hear of anything else let us know in the comments below or shoot me an email using the contact page. If I hear of anything else I will pass it on.

Anyway, that should do it. Now we just have to wait which is tough for me because man… I love the NFL playoffs. Best sport tourney in the world in my opinion. See ya next time.
