Here are some waiver wire and sleeper picks for you to check out. There are a ton of guys on my list because I play in some deeper leagues. I need to look a little deeper than most.
May be available now…
**UPDATE** Musa Smith RB (BAL) - Willis McGahee went down with a concussion last night late in the game. Those are ussually tricky so it is hard to say what his status might be for this week. You might want to grab Musa because if he does play, he should find lot of success against the Bungals D.
Detroit Defense - I should have said something about them last week but I almost didn’t believe it. They have been great the last two games; they have held two consecutive solid opponents to just 7 points, have forced 8 turnovers and recorded 7 sacks. Oh, and they play a struggling Arizona this week.
Maurice Morris RB (SEA) - Alexander wasn’t even on the field for most of the fourth quarter, instead Morris got the bulk of the work. Alexander just doesn’t look like he has anything when he runs the ball. Perhaps we are seeing a change of the guard. If you can, grab Morris and stash him on the bench.
D.J. Hackett WR (SEA) - Had a solid outing in his first game back. 6 catches 58 yards and a touchdown.
Priest Holmes RB (KC) - I can hardly believe I am saying this but the Priest is back. Johnson went down with a leg injury and if he misses any time the former fantasy stud will be back at the helm.
J. P. Losman QB (BUF) - Trent Edwards could miss more time and JP looked very good Sunday. This week he plays the Dolphins. If you need a QB this is your man.
Patrick Ramsey QB (DEN) - Not sure of Cutlers status at this time but if he misses any time Ramsey might be a decent roster addition. He threw for 262 and a TD in relief.
Quinn Gray QB (JAC) - Jaguars or not, when you throw for 354 and 2TD’s you belong on this list. If interceptions won’t kill you he could be an option unless Gerrard is all of the sudden feeling better.
Reggie Williams WR (JAC) - How consistent will he be? Not sure but he had a good day on Sunday. He posted 6 catches for 128 with a touchdown.
Warrick Dunn RB (ATL) - Just thought you’d like to know that he had 100 and a TD. Is it possible that he laying around on your wire? If he is make a note that this week he plays Carolina you is 20th against the run.
Vinnie Testeverde QB (CAR)/Matt Moore QB (CAR) - Nobody can stay healthy in Carolina. David Carr was injured and I’m not sure what his deal is but if you are desperate - and I mean desperate - keep tabs on one of these fella.
Vernon Davis TE (SF) - In case for some reason he is laying around on your waiver wire for some reason grab him. He’s had two solid weeks in a row and looks to be his teams only receiving threat.
Micheal Robinson RB (SF)/Maurice Hicks RB (SF) - Gore was inactivated right before the game. If he misses any more time you might see more of what you saw today out of these two. Robinson gets the carries and yards. Hicks gets the TD. If you are desperate or just want to keep them away from the Gore owner in your league grab one if you can.
Brooks Bollinger QB (MIN) - Tavaris Jackson is hurt again - shocker I know - and Brooks through a TD. Might be a bye week option in a deep leagues.
Keep an eye on…
Chris Henry WR (CIN) - If Chad Johnson misses any time I would think that Henry could hit the ground…receiving! He has been practicing and he is eligible to play this week after serving his suspension.
A few other resources you should check out are Fantasy Football Librarians waiver wire report and the Bruno Boys week nine waiver wire report.
As always I will be updating throughout the week if anyone jumps out at me. Also, I know many of you see things I don’t, feel free to throw down some of your thoughts below in the comments.

Which two should I start at TE?
Greg Olsen or Vernon Davis
Thanks is advance for your insight.

3Hi Corey.
I’m in a much deeper league, but have a few decent backs and need some opinions on who I should start. Last week I started Edge over Graham and ended up loosing because of it.
Ryan Grant
Edge
Earnest Graham
Jones-Drew
Need to start 2 RBs.

4Hey Guy,
Thanks for stopping by. Tough break on the Edge/Graham decision. Who knew that the Buc’s would control the clock for as long as they did. Also, the Bucs have been easy against the run.
This week looks tough for you again;
Grant plays the Vikes are number two against the run and who were able to contain LT last week.
Edge plays the red hot Lions defense who have shut down just about every one lately.
Graham is on a bye.
And Jones-Drew plays the Titans who are number one against the rush (only 66 YPG) and have only allowed 3 rushing TD’s all year.
Wow! With that said I would lean towards Edge because they are at home and have run the ball decent there. As far as the other two…hmmmm. Go with who you think will get the most ops at the goaline and in the passing game. I lean towards Drew but thats just me.

7Hey Brayden,
Thanks for stopping by. Looks like you have running backs with decent match-ups this week. Fargas plays the Bears who haven’t been stopping anyone. I would consider him. Brandon Jacobs has been solid and Priest Holmes plays the atrocious Denver rushing defense.
Any one of those three will be a better option than Gore. As crazy as this would’ve sounded a few weeks ago I don’t trust him any more. We can no longer judge him by something he did last year.

10Just stopping by, very good analysis! I’m down on Dunn but he might be available and can help some teams, especially in larger leagues as a flex type guy. Just don’t count on more. If any one dropped Javon Walker, he’s a good stash guy obviously. He’s coming back probably around Thanksgiving, ahead of schedule.
Keep up the good work!

12I’ve had a rough season in my twelve man league injury wise.
In week three, I traded Brandon Marshall and Eric Johnson for Marvin Harrison. Which gave me the best starting wide receivers in the league with Moss, Harrison, and Houshmandzadeh starting. Because of this, I had Chris Henry stashed away, thinking he’d be the only depth I needed. Harrison went down in week four and I’ve started the likes of Arnaz Battle, Roydell Williams, Koren Robinson, and Michael Jenkins in his absence.
This week is a tough one, Moss has a bye and it’s not looking like Harrison is going to play again. Williams and Hackett are not available, do you see any other wide receivers who offer me more of a chance than Koren Robinson offers?
Thank you for the tip on Musa Smith, my starting running backs have been Larry Johnson (Injured now) and Ernest Graham (on a bye). I have Warrick Dunn, who looks like he might be back on track, but this week would have been a toughy without a starting back. Hopefully McGahee sits.
Thanks in advance

13Hey Mischa,
Thanks for stopping by. Seeing as how I am a Vikes fan you should consider yourself lucky that I am offering up advise to Packer fan. Especially on Vike/Pack week. Kidding of course.
Hmmm…Wide receivers. Without looking at your leagues free agent list it is hard to see if anyone jumps out at me.
I have been in a similar situation myself the past few weeks since I too have Harrison and also Coles. Last week I survived with Stokely, Hackett and a TE Cooley.
You didn’t say whether or not you could use tight ends but if you can, I would check to see if there are any laying around that might have a good matchup. Outside of that, maybe check out a Derrick Hagan (MIA), Isaac Bruce or Drew Bennett against the Saints, Brandon Stokley, or Nate Washington from the Steelers.
Let me know if any of those do it for you.

14Alright Victor lets tackle your issue,
Romo or Roethlisberger…Ben has a better matchup but Romo gets more yards. TD’s are pretty even. I think they are both very good plays this week. Consult with your gut or flip a coin.
WR…Owens for sure and then I think it is between Patten and Chambers. Patten has the better matchup vs the Rams and he also has the hotter QB. Still a tough choice though because with a better game out of Rivers last week Chambers could’ve been solid.
I lean to Patten but you can make the final call.
RB…Bush and Holmes. Bush because he’s Bush and Holmes because he plays the Broncos who are dead last at stopping the run.
TE…Close call here but Vernon Davis is all the Niners have on offense right now. I like him simply because he should get more targets.

15Best of luck to your Minnesota Adrian Petersons.. ^.0.
There are no swing positions on my roster, but it’s funny that you mention Cooley. Considering he’s my starting TE, I’m really wondering who you have starting at TE!
Hagan, Bennett, and Washington are all available. When doing a second look through I noticed that a fellow rival was available. Do you think that Muhsin Muhammad might be worth a shot? He is the Bears #1 WR, but he hasn’t done anything all year. If the Bears start making a run, which we all know they won’t, he could start to produce again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for the quick response,
Mischa

16Corey,
Thanks for getting back to me!…
So would D.J. Hackett then be a better start than Chris Chambers for the WR3 spot I have open? T.O. and David Patten will be my WR1 and WR2…
Thanks again for your insight!
VP.

I think most experts would rank Chambers higher.

18PackAttack,
I am in five leagues. Three require TE but my money leagues do not (3WR or TE if you wish). In the two traditional leagues I Have Cooley and the other I have Heap and Sypniewski but have been using Donald Lee since Heap is never healthy and Baltimore has sucked. The other league I use a TE in is Rotohog.com. I can start anyone I can afford.
I was high on Muhammad until he stunk against the Lions. Before that he was scoring. He may be worth a shot though. Keep in mind Oakland is tough against the pass.
I do like Derek Hagan guy as a sleeper. Look over his stats on NFL.com for his last 3 or 4 games and see if you agree. Nothing stellar but he gets the looks from Lemon.
